DESCRIPTION
TH-18 is a high concentration Heat-stable Alpha-Amylase produced from Bacillus licheniformis through submerged fermentation, extraction and refining process.
It is an endoamylase that can efficiently decrease viscosity of gelatinous starch solutions by randomly hydrolyzing starch, glycogen and its degradation products within the alpha-D-1 glycosidic bonds and produces soluble dextrins and oligosaccharides under high temperature and low pH conditions.
PRODUCT BENEFITS FOR TEXTILE INDUSTRY
TH-18 has an excellent heat resistance and a wide pH range. It is suitable for desizing of textile fabrics such as cotton, silk, polyvinyl alcohol fibers, rayon fibers, blended fabrics, dyed poplin, etc
As a high concentration product, TH-18 can be used after dilution.
EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE AND PH ON ACTIVITY
Optimum temperature of TH-18 for interval liquefaction is above 77ºC. It liquefies starch substrates promptly at 83 to 90ºC and demonstrates exceptional thermal stability at 100 ºC.
The exact temperature optimum depends on actual processing conditions, such as pH, concentration of substrate and time.
The optimal pH is 5.4 to 6.4.
TH-18 is active over a wide pH range, depending on the application conditions.
USAGE GUIDELINES
Recommended industrial operating conditions are at temperatures from 80 to 90 ° C and pH from 5.6 to 6.4. Usually, adjust the pH first, then add this product. Due to the structure of fabrics, the amount of sizing, the desizing process and the desizing equipment are different, the exact dosage rate of this product shall be determined after a series of small desizing tests prior to routine use. Generally, the recommended concentration of the enzyme solution is 0.05 to 1 g/L.
INHIBITORS
Moderate inhibitors for TH-18: Copper, titanium, and cobalt ions
Strong inhibitors for TH-18: Aluminum, lead and zinc ions
PACKAGING
25kg, 30kg plastic drums, packaged on plastic pallets. Or 1125kg IBC totes
STORAGE AND SHELF-LIFE
Typical shelf-life is six months if it is stored below 25°C in itsoriginal packaging, sealed and unopened, protected from the sunlight.
Its shelf-life will be eighteen-months if this product is being store properly at 0∼10°C.
Prolonged storage and/or adverse conditions such as higher temperatures may lead to a higher dosage requirement, thus should be avoided.
SAFE HANDLING OF ENZYMES
Inhalation of enzyme dust and mists should be avoided. In case of contact with the skin or eyes, promptly rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. For detailed handling information, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
